Waterfront Theatre School - Courses in Drama & Musical Theatre

Group Drama classes are held on Saturdays as part of the integrated time-table.
Content of classes are as follows:

  • Improvisation: To encourage confidence, quick response, imagination, group activity and individual creativity.
  • Speech Training: Designed to develop clear speech,improved use of vocabulary and oral communication skills.
  • Characterisation: How to develop a character with the use of props, costume etc..
  • Play study & performance: The study of existing or newly created works.

TRINITY COLLEGE OF LONDON MUSICAL THEATRE EXAMINATIONS

Individual / Pairs and Group Examinations. Graded 1 to 7

We do not encourage the student to go above grade 7 whilst still at school due to academic pressures, although exceptions may be made if it is within the student’s scope.

All examinations are at the discretion of the College.

Progression to a higher grade is also by internal evaluation and is not automatic. The examinations are internationally
recognised and encouraged for the serious student as a stepping stone to the full time Tertiary courses.

 

Musical Theatre is an incredibly demanding genre, requiring the young artiste to be versatile in all performing arts genres. Therefore no student can be entered for a Musical Theatre Examination who does not participate in both dance and drama as well as Musical Theatre.
Content of the classes:

  1. Vocal harmony.
  2. Sung Improvisation.
  3. Vocal Technique and development of musicals.
  4. Voice placement.
  5. Microphone Technique
  6. Integration of drama, dance and singing within a given musical style.

 

TRINITY COLLEGE OF LONDON MUSICAL THEATRE EXAMINATIONS
